Aiko Melendez, mensahe niya para sa mga young stars, usap-usapan: “Be grateful… Be humble”

Aiko Melendez’s message for today’s young stars, which she posted recently on her Facebook account has stirred the social media grapevine.

In her message, Aiko narrated how she began in the showbiz industry and how people like the late Douglas Quijano and Ogie Diaz helped her.

Douglas used to be the manager of Aiko, and at present, she is being managed by Ogie.

“Kahit naman aktibo pa din ako sa pag aartista ko hanggang ngayon lagi kahit iam being managed by Ogie Diaz mag iisang taon na ako sa kanya wala contract verbal / based on trust and me kasamang pagmamahal at di lang pera ang mahalaga,” Aiko’s message read.

“Lagi sa huli ng desisiyon ang talent pa din ang masusunod pero me mga bagay na sinuggest si Mader Ogie sa akin na umoo ako kasi tingin ko kaya ko gawin at ijustify ung role at hindi nalang kasi kami sa pera tumitingin kasi modesty aside naman nakuha ko na at narating ung peak ng career ko,” she said further.

The multi-awarded actress also said she’s very lucky because she’s able to do what she likes and loves.

“Hindi lahat naman hanggang ngayon ay nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na umarte pa at mabigyan ng lead roles at supporting roles. Isa ako sa mapalad dahil nagagawa ko ang gusto at mahal ko. Marahil ang dahilan ng longevity ko sa karera ko ay marunong akong tumingin sa kung san ako nagsimula,” she said.

“Ang punto ko at natutunan sa manager ko na si Tito Douglas Quijano ay be grateful. Don’t burn bridges. Kasi maliit ang mundo ng showbiz para mas paliitin mo pa ito,” the multi-awarded actress continued.

“Hindi mo pwede solohin ang lahat ng kredito sa sarili mo lang. Collaboration of Great minds ang lahat ng karera sa buhay. Kasi sa mundo namen at mag 35 yrs na ata ako sa showbiz hindi pwede ang talent lang ang mag isiip lahat ng career moves eh. Dapat me kaagapay ka na tumtimon sa laban mo,” said Aiko.

Near the end of her post, Aiko imparted an important message for the young stars of today.

“Sa mga baguhan ngayon ang payo ko lang be Humble enough to admit that whatever achievement you have achieved in life is not just about you! Its about the people around you na me malasakit sayo na pagandahin ang karera mo matuto magpasalamat din sa mga press ako hanggang ngayon marunong akong magpasalamat kapag pinupuri ako ng press, media or ng ordinaryong tao,” the multi-awarded actress said.

“Kasi ang salitang pasasalamat ay nakaukit yan sa mga taong pinasasalamatan mo ibig sabihin appreciative ka sa efforts nila. Kulang ang espasyo ngayon para sa mga nais ko sabihin… Tumingin sa pinanggalingan at wag tatalikod. Maari gusto mo baguhin ang karera mo sa ano mang paraan mo gusto but you can’t discount the fact na minsan sa buhay mo nakasama mo ang mga taong tumulong syo kaya ang simpleng pagpapasalamat sa knila ay di kalabisan ,” Aiko concluded.

Aiko is a well-known showbiz personality. She received the Best Supporting Actress award in 2018 for her role in the film "Rainbow's Sunset." Aiko ran for and won a seat on the Quezon City Council in 2001. She served for 9 years, until 2010.
