Rabiya Mateo, 26, has finally talked about her break up with Neil Salvacion, which made headlines on social media in June 2021.

On Tuesday's episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the former beauty queen revealed that her ex-boyfriend had actually proposed to her.

However, KAMI learned that Rabiya turned him down, openly admitting that she was not yet ready when he proposed to her back then.

"I think this is the first time na sasabihin ko 'to sa TV, but he proposed to me, Tito Boy, and I was so young that time. I wasn't ready," she confessed.

According to Rabiya, at that time, Neil was ready to settle with her already, while she was not yet ready on the other hand.

"During that time, he was ready to settle na because feeling niya, okay na siya sa buhay. Pero ako, I wanna aspire to be more, so dun kami nagkaroon ng conflict," she said.

Eventually, Boy Abunda asked what made her take a step back from settling down with her ex-boyfriend.

"Galing din ako, Tito Boy sa walang-wala, tas nakita ko when I won Miss Universe, sabi ko ito na yung time ko para makapag ipon, para mabilihan ko yung nanay ko ng bahay, para mapagpatuloy ko man kung gusto pa ng kapatid ko mag-aral. Ako po yung breadwinner eh and dahil wala akong dad, nasa akin lahat ng responsibilidad na yun. Hindi ko pa kayang maiwan yun para mag-asawa," she explained.

Rabiya Occeña Mateo is a Filipina-Indian model and is the reigning Miss Universe Philippines. The beauty queen represented the Philippines in the 69th Miss Universe pageant held on May 16, 2021, in Florida, USA. She concluded her journey in the prestigious pageant in the top 21.

According to Rabiya, she simply wanted to teach the said person a lesson because "actions have legalities."
