Apparently, the netizen said that Donnalyn did not really experience what being poor really is.

She also stated that Donna does not know the struggles of the real poor.

"She was not even poor, she just chose to live in the Philippines from the US because she wanted to do her own thing, yun bang "kailangan kong pag-igihan to or else pababalikin ako sa America" kind. Kahit ano pang sabihin niyang "naghirap" din siya dati, she would never understand the struggles of real "poor" people and breadwinners."

This clearly struck a chord with Donna, who then went out of her way to make a lengthy post, enumerating the hardships that her family went through, including her mother's struggles as an OFW in the U.S.

"Nagpakumbaba ako sa lahat pero hindi sayo. **** sayo 'to. Angtalino me eh. Gawin na natin tong national issue cause on a deeper level, it actually is. How connected OFWs and POVERTY is. Inadmit ko nang mali ako, di ka parin solve. Nagshare ako ng struggles hoping marealize nila sincere ang pag admit ko sa wrong words I used, na di ko mean manakit kasi naghirap din kami kaya bakit ko gagawin yun? Alam mo ba buhay ng pamilya ko sa States?..."
