Carla Abellana is calling for an end to horse-fighting, which she said is being allegedly held in some areas of the country.

The actress said that she couldn’t find any reason to continue said practice, where one of the fighting horses could die.

“I’ve been desperate to speak against horse fighting (and since been actively campaigning against ALL other types of animal fighting) since i found out years ago that it sadly exists in our very own country,” Carla wrote in an IG post.

She then asked why is it necessary for two animals to be pitted against each other and then suffer in the process or perhaps even die.

“Why make animals fight against each other, suffer tremendously, and likely die in the process, just so you can excuse it under the guise of “tradition” or “entertainment”? Or so you can gamble your money away?” the actress wrote.

She then declared that she stands with the Animal Kingdom Foundation in their advocacy against horse fighting, as well as other forms of animal brawling.

Carla is a Filipina showbiz personality who is an exclusive artist of GMA-7. Before entering the entertainment industry, she graduated with honors from De La Salle University with a degree in psychology. She was married to Tom Rodriguez but they have already separated.

Previously, she also took to Instagram to share the victory that law enforcers have achieved over illegal dog meat trading. She expressed satisfaction that a dog meat trader was finally arrested. The dog meat trader goes by the alias "Bitoy" and was caught with 12 dogs in sacks. "Kulong ka ngayon" was Carla's caption on her post, signifying the punishment that awaits the suspect.

The actress would also post on social media about her close friends. In one of such posts where she greeted her close friend Dr. Aivee, Carla said that the doctor is a woman whom she can call the most determined. The actress also added that she is the most hardworking and selfless. When it comes to the heart, she said that Dra. Aivee has the softest heart.
