Lara Quigaman recently took to her Instagram account to share her experiences during her college days back when she had to commute from Biñan, Laguna to UST in Manila.

The actress and former beauty queen said that she “always only had the exact amount of money for a meal, and enough money to get to school and back home.”

“Quick college story- when I used to commute from Biñan Laguna to UST in España, I always only had the exact amount of money for a meal, and enough money to get to school and back home,” Lara said.

She then revealed she had to hide her fare money inside her socks or underwear in case the jeepney she’s riding would be subjected to a holdup.

“I used to hide my pamasahe in my socks or bra incase 'ma hold-up' ang jeep na sinasakyan ko eh makakauwi pa rin ako,” the actress and beauty queen said.

Lara then said she’s just sharing her experience way back then and comparing it with what she’s enjoying right now because of the goodness of the Almighty.

“Just sharing that before all I wanted was to be able to go home but now, we have the resources to travel... To Europe! And even to other places. I cannot brag you know, I acknowledge that all that I have is from God. None of this is because me or my husband or anyone! All I can really say is thank You Jesus!” Lara said.

Precious Lara Quigaman is an actress and a beauty queen. She won the Binibining Pilipinas International and Miss International 2005. In 2012, she married actor Marco Alcaraz.

Recently, the actress and former beauty queen posted her thoughts on what helps make married life happy for both spouses. She said that in a marriage relationship, both parties have to give it their all so everything would be okay. She also “flexed” the photo of her husband whom she called “gwapo.” Lara and her husband, Marco Alcaraz, tied the knot in a civil ceremony in 2011 and followed it up with a solemn wedding ceremony the year after.

She also took to Instagram and gave an inspiring message to everyone. She recounted the time that she was only 18 when she first joined the Bb. Pilipinas pageant. The beauty queen answered that she could have won if she was just more ready then. In 2005, she came back, prepared and determined, and she did bag the crown and brought pride to PH by winning a Miss International crown.
