Pen Medina's daughter, Japs Medina, recently took to her Facebook account to post a 'call for charity' for her father who will undergo a spine surgery.

On Friday, July 15, KAMI learned that Japs penned a lengthy post where she asked help from netizens, as well as, her dad's "friends, relatives, and co-workers."

According to Japs' post, her father has been in the hospital for three weeks now and cannot sit or stand up due to his condition.

Based on Japs' Facebook post, Pen is suffering from Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) and that he is scheduled for a major spine surgery on July 19.

"Our dad, 71-year-old actor Pen Medina, has been in the hospital for three weeks now and currently cannot sit or stand up due to Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD). He is scheduled for a major spine surgery on Tuesday, July 19," she began.

Continuing further, Japs explained that due to the pandemic, their dad "scarcely had any work" which eventually "siphoned his savings."

"Due to the pandemic, our dad scarcely had any work, which siphoned his savings over the past two years. We are trying to help him as best as we can but it will be a long road to sufficient recovery for him. We humbly appeal for your charitable help and prayers as our family navigates through helping him get back on his feet - literally and figuratively," Japs said.

Crispin "Pen" Parungao Medina Sr. is a Filipino actor who first began his career in theatre. He eventually rose to fame and made a name for himself, starring in several movies and television shows, with one of them being "Ika-6 na Utos" on GMA-7.

As previously reported by KAMI, Pen Medina's son, Ping Medina has buzzed the online community after he 'publicly begged' for birthday donations online. In his post, the 38-year-old actor recalled the numerous problems he encountered this year. He then went on to mention in his viral post that any amount will do, even if it is just one peso.

Furthermore, Pen's son, Ping, and Baron Geisler have recently become a hot topic on social media. It can be worth noting that Baron recently accused Ping of ráping his ex-girlfriend. According to Baron, this was also the reason why he decided to pee on the actor back in 2016. Ping has finally spoken up about the issue during his latest interview.
