Rey ‘PJ’ Abellana recently aired his honest thoughts on speculations that his son-in-law, Tom Rodriguez, is gay.

During his guesting on Cristy Ferminute, Cristy Fermin frankly asked Rey about the said rumors.
“Pasintabi. May isyung kumakalat na ang dahilan kung bakit sila naghiwalay ni Carla ay dahil, miyembro ng LGBTQ+ community ang manugang mo.”
“Bakla ba si Tom?” Nanay Cristy asked.
Rey then responded, “I don't think so.”
“Hindi ko po nakikita 'yan at hindi ko po pinaniniwalaan 'yan. Ako bilang lalaki kasi hindi ko masyadong abot iyan na totoong lalaki ako. Halimbawa, kung magpapakasal ako sa isang babae, iyon po ang realistic doon. So, paano mo pakikitaan ng kabaklaan ang sitwasyon na 'yon kung ikaw, ako, ay isang straight.”
“Kaya, hindi ko po nakikita 'yan, Hindi ko nai-imagine 'yan at hindi ko pinaniniwalaan 'yan, para kay Tom. Sa tingin ko po, opinyon ko po na personal 'yan.”

Tom Rodriguez, whose real name is Bartolome Alberto Mott, is a Filipino actor, host, and singer. My Husband's Lover, I Can See You, I Heart Davao, and The World Between Us are just a few of the TV series in which he has starred. He is married to his fellow Kapuso star Carla Abellana.
Carla's father, Rey “PJ” Abellana, has recently broken his silence on Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez’s rumored split. During his guesting on Cristy Ferminute, Rey told Cristy Fermin that he was shocked when he learned the circulating rumor. He also revealed that he immediately texted his daughter about the issue. Carla then allegedly opened up to her father, “Tom and I now are not okay”.
Rey also claimed that his son-in-law, Tom, admitted to him about having a one-night stand. Carla’s father, however, said he is not considering Tom’s revelation to him as “third-party”.
