Aiko Melendez, 46, recently took to Instagram to greet her late stepfather, Dan Castaneda, a happy birthday as she wrote a heartbreaking message to him.

It is worth recalling that Aiko's stepfather, Dan, passed away due to COVID-19 which Aiko revealed in a post she wrote back in February 2021.

Following this news, KAMI learned that the actress could not help but shed tears as she greeted her stepdad happy birthday.

"I know you are in a better place than any of us here. But I can’t deny the fact that we still miss you dad," she began.

According to Aiko, she cannot help but miss him on his birthday, admitting that she shed tears as she wrote her message.

"Ang dami mo pa dapat na-witness at ma-witness if you were still alive. Habang compose ko 'to I can’t help but miss you and di ko mapigilan pa rin ang umiyak. Dad, I will make you proud."

By the end of her post, Aiko shared what her father taught her in life and how she plans to apply it as a public servant.

"Basta Dad as you always remind me to be good in everything, kapag sa pag arte in showbiz do my best, now in public service to serve the people the best way they deserve. To be selfless."

Aiko Melendez is a popular showbiz personality in the Philippines. In 2018, she won the Best Supporting Actress award for the movie, “Rainbow’s Sunset.” In 2001, Aiko ran for councilor in the city elections in Quezon City and won. She became Councilor of the 2nd District of Quezon City and remained in office for 9 years until 2010.

On Instagram, Aiko revealed she hired the services of Mang Felix for a much-needed "taho buffet" in her headquarters. She also said that she is now the endorser of Mang Felix free of charge which warmed the hearts of countless netizens.

Meanwhile, Aiko Melendez has stirred buzz on social after giving a shoutout to one of her supporters in Quezon City. According to Aiko, she could not help but admire her supporter’s creativity in expressing their love for her. On Instagram, the Kapuso actress uploaded a picture of a man holding up a handmade sign. It can be worth pointing out that Aiko previously cried foul over the people taking down her tarpaulins in the area.
