Angelica Panganiban admitted she was challenged by her role as ‘Dr. Kara Teo’ in her new series, ‘The Kangks Show.’
A Manila Times report describe Angelica’s character in the show as a feisty and quirky doctor who hosts a talk show that feature irreverent sexual advice for couples.
“Si Doc Kara, siya ang sexual guru. So ang concept ng show ay para siyang mga Margie Holmes noong unang panahon, so isa yan sa mga ni-research ko na pinagbasehan ng character,” Angelica said.
According to a report by PUSH, Angelica’s character in the series provides sexual advice for couples who have sex problems.

“So may mga ‘may mga sex problems or, sexual struggles na pinagdaraanan ang mga letter senders niya. Then siyempre intertwine ang mga sex problems na nangyayari rin sa buhay ni Doc Kara na napakakulay rin naman talaga ng buhay niya,” the actress said.
She also said the series was challenging in the sense that she had to memorize seventeen pages of script with most of it requiring her to do monologues.
“Umaabot ng 17 pages ang sinasabi ko nang ako lang ang nagsasalita. Tapos, bilang yung oras niyo dahil pandemic, so parang minamadali mo yung isip mo na ma-memorize siya kasi pumapatak na yung metro, so iniisip mo yung budget ng show, iniisip mo yung eksena ko, iniisip ko yung lines ko,” Angelica revealed.
The show also features Cassandra, portrayed by Maris Racal, who rose to become The Kangks Show top rival.
Tempo described Cassandra as a Gen-Z influencer who also provides advice on her channel on TikTok.
Angelica said that while the series is challenging, she enjoyed it and everyone supported one another.
“Bagong challenge talaga siya pero ang saya kasi, hindi umabot na nagalit ako sa set nainis ako. Parang kanino ako magagalit wala naman may gusto non ‘di ba? Siyempre lahat sila naka suporta,” the actress said.
The original series started airing last December on WeTV.

They were dressed elegantly in gowns and they were wondering whether the event would be at the 9th floor or at Studio 9.
