In the interview uploaded on the King of Talk’s YouTube channel, Bea explained why she was smiling the entire time she was on stage during the pageant’s preliminary swimsuit competition.
“Sobrang saya ng experience, I saw all the comments after the preliminaries na hindi daw ako nag-transition with my emotions. So, 'yung feeling ko kasi that night was sobrang saya ko lang kaya naka-smile ako the entire time, from the moment I went out on stage hanggang nag-exit ako.”
According to Bea, she became even more thrilled when she saw Marian Rivera as one of the judges.

“Lalong lalo na nu'ng nakita ko si Miss Marian Rivera sa panel of judges. I saw her cheering kahit hindi daw pwede, kahit bawal daw silang mag-cheer, I saw her cheering for me. Lalo na nu'ng nakita ko ang daming Filipinos du'n sa audience kahit preliminaries pa lang, tinatawag nila ako. I can't help it talaga but smile. And kaya hindi ko nagawa 'yung transition ng emotions ko na fierce tapos smile tapos fierce ulit.”

Beatrice Luigi Gomez became well-known after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant. The Cebu representative bested well-known candidates such as Asia's Next Top Model season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz and former PBB housemate Kisses Delavin. She is also a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and had a former girlfriend named Kate Jagdon. Bea concluded her Miss Universe 2021 journey in the Top 5.
The Cebuana beauty queen admitted in an interview that she felt nervous during the pageant's question-and-answer portion. Despite being tensed during her Q&A moment, Bea said she is satisfied with her answer.
While Bea was cheerfully introducing herself in pageant, it could be noticed that Marian Rivera gave a round of applause for the Philippine bet. A video of Marian clapping her hands for Bea then became viral.
