MY SON HAS AUTISM. BUT FIRST AND FOREMOST, HE IS MY SON. AND HE IS LEGEND FOR A REASON. ♥️
At just 7 years old, my son Legend continues to teach me lessons about life that even adults sometimes struggle to understand.
He loves being in front of the camera. He speaks his mind. He’s fearless in his own way, full of personality, and unapologetically himself. And today, getting to work out with Daddy and watch him grow, I honestly couldn’t be any prouder.
As a father, I know that my job isn’t to change him into someone society considers “normal.” My job is to help him navigate the world, teach him life skills, build his confidence, and give him the tools to become the best version of HIMSELF.
Having autism doesn’t mean life is over before it begins. It doesn’t mean a child cannot learn, grow, dream, achieve, or bring incredible joy to the people around them. Every child is different, and every child deserves patience, understanding, love, and the opportunity to thrive.

Epy Quizon, may matinding ipinangako sa anak sa birthday nito

To all the parents raising children on the spectrum: PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP HOPE. Keep showing up. Keep teaching. Keep celebrating the little victories that the rest of the world might not even notice. Some milestones may take longer, and some journeys may look different, but your child’s journey is THEIR OWN.
And remember, our children don’t have to be exactly like everyone else to have a beautiful future.
My wife and I will continue to guide Legend, support him, and teach him everything we can. Not because we want him to fit into the world, but because we want him to be ready to face it while staying true to who he is.
Maybe one of life’s greatest lessons is this: WE DON’T HAVE TO BE THE SAME TO BE AMAZING.
Legend, you are a blessing to Mommy and Daddy. You are teaching us as much as we are teaching you. And no matter what life brings, we will always be in your corner.
You’re only 7, son. Keep being YOU. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep shining.
Because you don’t have to live up to your name, Legend.
YOU ALREADY ARE ONE. Mommy and Daddy will always love you son!”

Eric’s message also arrives at a time when discussions about autism and the treatment of people with special needs have received renewed attention online. The post came amid the controversy surrounding the podcast Machong Chismisan, which faced backlash after remarks mocking Kris Aquino’s son, Josh Aquino, who has special needs.

Rather than focusing solely on the controversy, Eric used his own experience as a father to stress the importance of seeing children on the spectrum as individuals first. His statement made clear that he does not view autism as something that should erase or overshadow his son’s personality.

For Eric, fatherhood means helping Legend develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate life while respecting who he already is. He said he and his wife will continue guiding and supporting their son, not simply to make him conform to expectations, but to prepare him to face the world without losing his individuality.

The actor and host also addressed parents who are raising children on the autism spectrum, encouraging them not to lose hope. He acknowledged that some milestones may take longer and that every child’s development can follow a different path.

Previously, Eric Tai discussed the difficulties he and his wife, Rona, experienced while pursuing their health and fitness goals in 2026. He acknowledged that their journey included challenges, difficult discussions, and differences in their individual pace of progress.
