The exchange happened on Threads after a netizen described the emotional toll of motherhood and admitted that she had reached a point of feeling completely drained.

“Mahal na mahal ko anak ko pero napapagod na ko bilang nanay niya. Sobrang hirap. Hindi ko alam kailan maging okay at madali pero ubos na ubos na ko.. hinding hindi nila ako maiintindihan [hanggat] wala sila anak na may Autism!!!!!” the mother wrote.

Candy, who is herself a mother to 22-year-old Quentin, responded to the woman’s message with reassurance and empathy.

“Mommy super get you. Pagod din ako. Pero pagod din po sila for being like that. Its super hard also to be them. More for them,” Candy said.

The actress then encouraged the fellow mother to give herself permission to pause and recover from the emotional weight she was carrying.

“I super understand you. Rest for a while. Take a deep breath. Marami din akong araw na Lord tulong pls!” she added.

Candy’s response acknowledged two sides of the situation. She validated the mother’s exhaustion while also pointing out that children experiencing autism and other challenges can have their own difficulties that may be hard for them to express or manage.

Her message also reflected her own experience as a parent. Candy has openly shared aspects of her journey raising Quentin, who has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism.

Through the years, Candy has frequently discussed the realities of parenting, including moments that have tested her emotionally. Her willingness to talk about those experiences has helped make her a familiar voice for parents navigating similar circumstances.

Rather than criticizing the mother for admitting that she was tired, Candy responded by reminding her that needing rest does not diminish the love she has for her child. Her advice was simple: take a break, breathe, and recognize that difficult days can happen.

Her admission that she, too, has days when she asks God for help further showed that even someone experienced in navigating the demands of parenthood can struggle.
