Chef Luigi Muhlach has candidly opened up about his weight loss journey, revealing the struggles he faced before deciding to make major changes to his lifestyle.

In a heartfelt social media post, Luigi, the son of actors Aga Muhlach and Janice de Belen, admitted that he had attempted to lose weight numerous times over the years.

“I’ve tried to lose weight more times than I can count,” he wrote.

According to the chef, there was a time when his weight had become so overwhelming that he no longer recognized himself and lost much of his self-confidence.

“There was a point where I got so big that I lost my confidence. I stopped recognizing the person I saw in the mirror,” he shared.

Luigi explained that working as a chef made the journey even more challenging because he is constantly surrounded by delicious food. He said Tirzepatide helped him control the “food noise” and allowed him to make healthier choices.

However, he emphasized that medication alone is not responsible for his progress.

“But this isn’t just about medication. I make sure I eat enough calories, hit my protein goals, train in the gym, stay active through Golf and Muay Thai, and continue building healthier habits,” he wrote.

The chef also revealed that he has moved away from partying, unhealthy eating, and excessive drinking in favor of a lifestyle that better supports his overall well-being.

“I’ve lost a lot of weight already, but I’m nowhere near the finish line,” Luigi admitted.

He added that his motivation comes from wanting to be healthier for himself and for his family.

“Malayo pa to but I’m doing this for my family, for my health, and for the version of myself I’ve been trying to become for many years. Maybe almost my whole life.”

Despite acknowledging that there is still a long road ahead, Luigi expressed optimism about the future.

“The road ahead is still long. It won’t be easy. But for the first time in a long time, I know I’m heading in the right direction.”
