In a lengthy social media post, Izzy reflected on how the COVID-19 pandemic became the turning point that led her to begin homeschooling her two daughters.

“PANDEMIC Time — that’s when I started homeschooling my 2 girls… Almost 5 years na din pala! And now, last na si bunso,” Izzy wrote.

“I chose homeschooling and hindi ko na iniwan… walang pagsisisi,” she said.

According to Izzy, homeschooling helped her become a more intentional parent by allowing her to actively participate in her children’s daily learning experiences and personal development.

She explained that their lessons go beyond academics, as their activities are centered on strengthening character and deepening their relationship with God.

“Everything that we do… devotions, lessons, activities, experiments, sports, field trips and a lot more is focusing on one goal - building character and getting them to be more in love with Jesus,” she shared.

Izzy also highlighted one of the biggest benefits of homeschooling for their family — flexibility.

The actress explained that their children are able to learn at their own pace without pressure, allowing them to fully understand lessons before moving forward.

“Plus, the flexible time is a bonus — kahit saan pwede naming maging classroom and they can learn at their own pace… hindi namin minamadali,” she wrote.

Aside from academics and faith formation, Izzy also addressed one of the most common concerns surrounding homeschooling — socialization.

According to her, she and her family intentionally encouraged their daughters to interact with people both inside and outside the home from an early age.

She recalled how they first practiced communication through simple conversations at home before gradually encouraging their children to interact with waiters in restaurants, neighbors, and fellow churchgoers.

Socialization isn’t a problem either,” Izzy explained, joking that her daughters have now become extremely talkative and always eager to engage in conversations.

The actress further revealed that one of her main reasons for choosing homeschooling was her desire to guide and prepare her children for the realities of the world.

However, she clarified that protecting them does not mean isolating them from society.

“So I homeschooled them because yes, I also want to protect them — but not by covering them from the world, but forming and building them up,” she explained.

Izzy added that her goal is to build a strong spiritual and emotional foundation in her children so they can eventually face life’s challenges with strength and wisdom.
