In a heartfelt social media post, Neri gave fans a glimpse into her deeply rooted religious upbringing as she showcased several religious gifts she recently received, including rosaries, prayer handbooks, and blessed items.

“I’ve always loved receiving gifts like these…” she began, explaining that her fondness for such items stems from her childhood experiences growing up in Subic.

According to Neri, her early years were closely tied to church life, where she actively participated in various religious activities.

“Siguro kasi growing up sa probinsya sa Subic, bahagi na ng childhood ko ang simbahan… mga prusisyon, misa, pagro-rosaryo,” she shared.

She recalled serving as a reader during church services, reading the Gospel, and even trying her hand at singing in a choir during her time in Baguio, though she jokingly admitted that singing wasn’t her strength.

“Ako yung tagabasa ng Mabuting Balita ng Diyos… Nung nasa Baguio na ako, nag-choir pa ako… kaso hindi pala maganda boses ko,” she said humorously.

Instead, she found other ways to serve, such as helping collect offerings during mass, further highlighting her involvement in church life.

Neri then revealed that at one point, she seriously considered entering religious life.

“Minsan nga naisip ko na maging madre… pero hindi ako pinayagan ng nanay ko. Haha!” she said.

Although that path did not materialize, Neri admitted that a part of her still longs for the quiet and spiritual connection she once had.

“Kaya siguro hanggang ngayon, may part sa akin na hinahanap yung tahimik na connection ko kay Lord,” she reflected.

Now married to Chito Miranda, frontman of the band Parokya ni Edgar, and raising a family, Neri shared how she continues to nurture her faith in her own way.

She revealed that she has created a small prayer space or “adoration corner” in her room, where she writes letters to God as a form of prayer—something she finds deeply personal and meaningful.

“Ngayon, gusto kong ayusin yung maliit kong adoration corner sa room… Para kapag nagsusulat ako ng letters ko kay Lord… mas ramdam ko yung presence Niya,” she said.

For Neri, writing has become her way of expressing her thoughts, emotions, and prayers more fully, allowing her to maintain a strong spiritual connection despite the demands of daily life.

She also shared that some of the religious items she received came from loved ones, including a Bible from Gary Valenciano and his wife Angeli, as well as relatives from her husband’s side, gestures she jokingly interpreted as signs that her family wants her to stay prayerful.

In the end, Neri reflected that while she did not become a nun, she still finds fulfillment in being devoted in her own quiet way.

“Hindi man ako naging madre… pero siguro, pwede pa rin maging devoted in my own quiet way,” she wrote.

While she did not win the competition, she went on to build a steady career in television and film, often taking on supporting and dramatic roles. Over time, she also became known for her entrepreneurial mindset, earning admiration for her practical approach to business and finances. She married Chito Miranda in December 2014, and together they have become one of the most admired celebrity couples for their grounded and family-oriented lifestyle.

In a previous report, Neri shared why she has not been consistently posting her popular “Baon Serye” content online. She admitted that fatigue and “mommy brain” sometimes affect her ability to update her followers regularly. Despite this, she continues to document moments such as meals and family activities, though many of these remain saved privately on her phone. She also reflected on how mothers often take on the role of documenting family memories behind the scenes.
