Popular radio and TV personality DJ Chacha took to social media on Thursday, April 9, to voice her frustration over the timely payment of taxes contrasted with the government’s slow response to high-profile corruption.

In a couple of quote cards, DJ Chacha highlighted the gap between a citizen’s prompt fulfillment of fiscal duties and the perceived lack of accountability for officials allegedly involved in the misuse of public funds. One card read:

She also shared her emotional state regarding the situation in another card:

"Taxes: Paid. Heart: A little bit broken. Paying taxes is a duty we can’t run from. While we do our duty, we also hope and pray na ingatan ng taong gobyerno ang bawat sentimo na pinaghirapan natin. Pagod at puyat ang puhunan namin dito, sana masuklian ng tapat at maayos na serbisyo."

DJ Chacha accompanied the cards with a direct message to government officials:

"To our dear government officials: Ayusin niyo naman trabaho niyo. Isipin niyo na lang, kahit wala pang malaking isda na nahuhuli dyan sa flood control scandal, tuloy pa rin ambag namin sa pondo ng Bayan."
