In a new social media post, Geneva posted emotional moments from the ceremony and thanked supporters who congratulated her after completing her degree.
“Thank you all for your comments and messages. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.♥️
I almost didn’t go to the graduation because I felt like college was already over anyway so why still attend, and I was a bit ‘dyahe’ to march.😅 My boyfriend Dean Roxas was the one who gave me a reason to go—because my angel mama would have wanted me to; and so would my papa. He was right, and I’m so glad I went because it was worth the wait! ☺️ Thank you, my love, for your unconditional love, inspiration, and encouragement to keep growing.

I dedicate this diploma to my loving parents, my wonderful children, and to all the single moms and dads out there who had to make the hard choice of stopping school to support their families by earning a living.
There’s indeed a perfect time for everything, and it’s never too late to finish what you already started…no matter how long it takes.”
Earlier, Geneva proudly revealed that she completed her college education at 49 years old. The performer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Philippine Christian University in Manila, fulfilling a goal that took decades to achieve.
Geneva Cruz belongs to the prominent Cruz clan in Philippine show business. She is related to actresses Sunshine Cruz, Donita Cruz, and Sheryl Cruz. At the start of her career, she rose to fame as one of the members of the well-known musical group Smokey Mountain, which was formed by celebrated composer Ryan Cayabyab. In a previous social media post, Geneva also shared a collage of photos showing how her look has changed throughout the years.
Earlier, Geneva Cruz decided to postpone her 35th anniversary concert titled #GenEvolution, which was scheduled to be held at the Music Museum. She explained that the move came amid widespread protests linked to alleged corruption issues in the country. According to the singer, the postponement was made both for the safety of fans and out of personal conviction. In her message, she referenced the Smokey Mountain song Paraiso as a symbol of hope and unity for the Philippines.
Previously, Geneva Cruz opened up about the pressures she faced growing up in the entertainment industry. She said that when she looks at old photos, she can easily tell what age she was by noticing changes in her face, body weight, hairstyle, and fashion choices. The singer also revealed that at just 16 years old, she was advised to undergo cosmetic surgery because she was told her nose was too big for the camera. Although she did not want the procedure at first, she eventually agreed to have a nose job early in her career.
