Actress and wellness advocate Maxene Magalona shared a glimpse of the moment she and her companions learned about the attacks in the United Arab Emirates while in Dubai.

In a social media post, Maxene uploaded several photos showing her spending time with boyfriend Geoff Gonzalez and fellow Filipinos. The images featured them dining, visiting scenic locations, and bonding with members of the Filipino community during their stay.

She revealed that the news reached them while they were having lunch at a restaurant.

“This was the exact moment we found out about the attacks in UAE last February 28 😅 We were having lunch at Wagamama UAE where some kind Filipino workers gave us complimentary dessert 😋,” Maxene wrote.

Maxene added that she has been in Dubai for about a week and said seeing the resilience and warmth of fellow Filipinos there has been uplifting, even during uncertain times.

“I’ve officially been in Dubai for a week now and I must say—seeing our kababayans here during this difficult time strengthens my spirit. Scroll through this post to see the different Filipino souls we crossed paths with during our time here,” she shared.

The actress also stressed the importance of unity and responsible sharing of information during crises, urging people not to spread misinformation online.

“In times of crisis, I believe it’s important that we stand together united in peace and strengthen each other instead of adding more negative energy to the situation by spreading fake news for clout,” she said.

Maxene highlighted the Filipino value of bayanihan, describing it as a spirit of unity and cooperation that she witnessed among Filipinos she encountered in Dubai.

Maxene Magalona is known in Philippine entertainment as an actress and television personality who later shifted her focus toward wellness and mental health advocacy. She is the daughter of the late rap icon Francis Magalona and Pia Arroyo and first appeared on television as a child through youth-oriented programs such as Ang TV and 5 and Up. As her career progressed, she trained as a yoga and meditation instructor and began promoting mindfulness, healing, and self-love through her platform. Maxene married Rob Mananquil in Boracay in 2018, and in 2022 she confirmed that they had amicably separated. She is now in a relationship with non-showbiz partner Geoff Gonzalez.

In a detailed Instagram post, she explained that heightened alerts and regional disturbances following drone and missile attacks caused flight interruptions.
