On March 3, Gabbi took to X, formerly Twitter, to share her thoughts and reposted a quote card from GMA Integrated News highlighting the controversial incident. The quote card featured Rep. Suntay’s original statement, in which he recounted allegedly seeing Anne at a mall and admitted, “You know my desire sa loob ko na nag-init talaga, na-imagine ko na lang kung ano’ng puwede mangyari. Pero siyempre hanggang imagination na lang ‘yun. Pero hindi naman siguro ako puweding kasuhan dahil kung ano-ano ‘yung na-imagine ko.”

The card also included a response from San Juan Representative Bel Zamora, who criticized Suntay’s remarks, saying: “It is just the start of the Women’s Month and I don’t think that we should be hearing such comments from our dear colleague. We are not censoring anything, but we are reminding them, that in fact, we should support women by not saying this statement.”

Gabbi added her own perspective, expressing strong disapproval of the objectification of women in any form, even casual or passing remarks.

“If you hold power, act like it,” Garcia stated in her post. She further stressed that the casual nature of the remarks did not excuse them, asserting that, “Objectifying women, even in passing remarks is unacceptable.”

The actress concluded her statement by highlighting the dehumanizing effect of such language. “We are not here to be reduced to someone’s imagination. NAKAKADIRI,” she added.

The incident sparked wide social media discussion, especially as it coincided with the start of Women’s Month, prompting calls for greater sensitivity and respect toward women in public discourse. Gabbi’s post has drawn significant attention, reflecting growing frustration over casual sexism in both politics and media.

By reposting the GMA Integrated News quote card alongside her own statement, Gabbi joined other public figures in urging accountability and reinforcing the importance of treating women with respect, regardless of context or position.
