She said the grief felt heavier as it came just four months after the loss of her brother, making the period especially painful for their family.
The former actress and politician reflected on what she described as God’s grace during her mother’s final days. She recalled spending a quiet afternoon alone with her mom at the hospital, sharing stories and laughter despite her mother’s weakening body. Marjorie said those simple moments became priceless memories she now treasures deeply.
She also shared that when her mother passed, only she and her sisters were in the room, calling it a peaceful and sacred moment she believes was divinely orchestrated. For Marjorie, being present at her mother’s bedside gave her a sense of closure and healing.

At the end of her post, she asked the public to continue praying for their “beautiful, feisty, strong, funny, and loving” mom, adding that she is now reunited with her late husband and son.
Marjorie wrote:
”Our Mom, Estrella “Inday” Barretto, passed away peacefully last January 29. It took me some time to post, as I was still processing every emotion while making funeral arrangements. These feelings were made even more raw by the loss of my brother just four months ago.
In every trial that comes my way, I have always felt God’s guidance, protection, and grace. I felt His grace most during a quiet afternoon a few days ago at the hospital, when I had my mom all to myself for a couple of hours. Just the two of us. Mom trying her best to be her usual chatty self, speaking more slowly, yet with a mind still clear and sharp. Without me even trying to be funny, she laughed so hard at my stories. That time was priceless.
But the greatest grace was 2 days after in the morning she passed away. I was in her room with only my sister Michie and Marichi. It was peaceful and quiet. A moment I truly believe God orchestrated and one I will hold close to my heart always.
They say we don’t always get closure in life. Knowing God was calling my mom home, I believe He gave me something even greater, the chance to be with her at her bedside, a grace that allowed me to heal.
Please keep our beautiful, feisty, strong, funny, and loving Mom in your prayers. She is now with Dad and my brother Mito.”
