Jopay Paguia gets hospitalized: “Laban, walang babawi”

Jopay Paguia Zamora of the SexBomb Girls recently worried fans after she was hospitalized due to a minor concussion. The performer shared a photo on social media showing her wearing a hospital bracelet, along with a lighthearted caption that read:
“Laban walang babawi. Jopay kumusta ka na … May ‘Rawnd 5 pa’ … Get get aw,” accompanied by the hashtag #concussion.
Despite the scare, her post suggested that she was staying positive while undergoing observation and treatment.

Jopay’s husband also took to Facebook to give an update on her condition. He shared a photo of himself sitting beside Jopay inside the hospital room and reassured everyone that she is expected to recover soon.

In his message, he wrote, “Soon makakabalik na yan si Ate Jopay nyo, we all know how God is faithful, just a little more rest. Thank God there was no serious injury; we are still taking precautionary measures.”
He added that Jopay is still undergoing further medical consultations to ensure her safety. He also expressed gratitude to the doctors and nurses who assisted them at Capitol Medical Center’s emergency room, as well as to everyone who offered prayers and well wishes. In his post, he emphasized his faith, saying that only God can fully heal his wife and referring to Him as “Jehovah Rapha the Lord our Healer.”.
Jopay Paguia Zamora is best known as one of the original members of the iconic pop-dance group SexBomb Girls, which rose to massive popularity in the early 2000s through their performances on Eat Bulaga and hit songs like “Spaghetti Song” and “Get Get Aww.” Beyond her time with the group, Jopay has appeared in films and television shows and later focused on family life. She is married and a mother, often sharing moments of faith, resilience, and positivity with her followers
Earlier, Jopay Paguia shared photos from the first two Get Get Aw SexBomb concerts on Facebook and opened up about the challenges behind making the shows happen. She recalled how many producers and sponsors initially turned them down because they feared the concerts would not succeed. Despite the doubts, Jopay said she held on to daily prayers and believed that God helped make the project possible.
Meanwhile, Jopay Paguia also spoke honestly about the emotional struggle the group faced when some SexBomb Girls left in 2013. Their former mentor and manager Joy Cancio admitted she was hurt at the time but respected the members’ decision to move forward with their personal growth. Jopay shared that several original members chose not to renew their contracts, and although the transition was difficult, she decided to keep going and rebuild her career after leaving the group.
