Bretman claimed that the encounter happened at Coachella several years ago when both of them were invited by the same brand, Sugar Bear Hair. At the time, he was still younger in his career and had short hair. He said they were required to go to the brand’s house to pick up their festival passes, where Vanessa was already talking to the company’s CEO, whom Bretman personally knew.

According to Bretman, he was simply trying to get the attention of the CEO and was waving and calling out to him, not to Vanessa. However, he noticed that Vanessa supposedly looked uncomfortable and tried to avoid him, even using another person with her to block him as he walked closer. Bretman found this strange and unnecessary, especially since they were all invited guests and equals at the event.

He shared that he was not trying to approach her or ask for photos, and he felt there was no reason for her to react that way. Bretman added that, as someone who is also familiar with being around famous people, he understands boundaries and knows the right time and place to interact.
