Accompanying her post was a photo of Sinta resting in a hospital bed, wearing a face mask, with Risa by her side. The photo, originally shared on Sinta’s Instagram Story, included a caption from the young patient:
“Mama came right from her hearing and ate, not in photo, but there for humorous support.”
The senator’s post quickly caught the attention of followers, many of whom expressed relief and sent well-wishes for Sinta’s recovery. Ana Theresia "Risa" Navarro Hontiveros-Baraquel is a Filipino politician, journalist, and community leader. She was born on February 24, 1966. She won a seat in the Philippine Senate, placing 9th, during the 2016 general elections. Previously, she served as Akbayan sectoral representative in the Philippine House of Representatives from 2004 to 2010.
In October, Senator Risa Hontiveros denied having any insertions in the 2025 national budget, stating that she did not sign the bicameral report and voted “no.” Her clarification came after broadcaster Anthony Taberna discussed alleged budget amendments, prompting him to go live on Facebook to explain his comments amid public backlash. The broadcaster argued that budget insertions are legal unless linked to corruption and cited documents allegedly showing ₱3 billion worth of projects associated with the senator.
