According to ABS-CBN News, AC had been in Bangkok for nearly a month, filming and rehearsing for the movie. The accident occurred on her day off, the day after the official project announcement, while she was taking a motorcycle taxi to a weekend market. The vehicle slipped, causing her to fall on her right shoulder. Fortunately, the mishap did not happen on the film set.
“It was a motorcycle accident, we slipped. It wasn’t anything crazy. We just slipped. I blocked my fall with my arm. Kasi if not, it could have been worse,” AC recounted. She added that immediately after the fall, she tried to get up but couldn’t. “I thought I was fine, I thought I was okay, I was happy that my hand was moving. I was cautious, I was able to talk to people. I was in extreme pain. No blood, no scratches,” she said.
Medical examinations revealed that she had fractured her humerus. “It was a clean break. It was a break na the orthos are saying na I’m lucky to have,” AC explained. The actress admitted that she was in shock since she had never experienced such an injury before, and she was concerned about how it would affect her role in the movie. Throughout the ordeal, she stayed in contact with her mother, and the production team in Thailand ensured she received immediate medical attention.

Following the surgery, which included the insertion of a steel plate in her right arm, the production team and AC’s camp decided that she would have to leave the project. Several weeks of scenes had already been filmed, but with her unable to perform due to her injury, the team will recast her role and reshoot the necessary scenes.
“We’ve all decided na it’s better for me to prioritize healing. We tried every single possible way on how we can make it work,” AC said, acknowledging the difficult decision. She admitted the setback was disappointing, saying, “It sⓤcks of course, anybody who is doing their dream role. Hindi naman po 'yan na kinick-out lang ako. We had so many discussions, we tried so many different things on how it would work with my arm but the final decision is it just won't work.”
AC will require six weeks to heal, followed by therapy, with her full recovery timeline depending on how quickly her body recuperates. She has since returned home and is set to appear in ABS-CBN’s upcoming series Roja.
