The quote reads: “If you throw garbage into the ocean, it is called POLLUTION. If you throw a corrupt politician into the ocean, it is called SOLUTION.”
As reported by Philstar Life, the quote traces back to September 2013, during the height of the multi-billion pork barrel scam, when Santiago passionately addressed corrupt politicians in a speech at the National Student Conference on Hotel and Restaurant Management. Sagot, solution.” This moment has since become emblematic of her fearless stance against corruption.
