In one post, he wrote: “THE SIERRA MADRE MAY NOT STOP STORMS, IT WEAKENS IT AS IT HEADS INLAND. PINAPAHINA NITO ANG BAGYO.” He explained that the mountain range does not completely block typhoons but can reduce their intensity as they move inland.
He further added in the caption: “In terms of wind, the mountains can weaken a typhoon because of friction when it moves from the ocean to land, especially over high elevations #protectsierramadre.”
