Comedian and television host Vice Ganda warned the public about an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated video circulating online that falsely features him promoting a product.

In a post shared on his Instagram Stories, Vice reposted a warning from his official Team Vice Ganda page, @teamviceph, with the caption, “FAKE NEWS ALERT! AI-GENERATED VIDEO!”

The post included side-by-side images comparing his original TikTok clip and the fabricated version, which was labeled “FAKE.” The manipulated video used his likeness, gestures, and voice to falsely depict him endorsing a health supplement.

In the social media card, the “It’s Showtime” host clarified that the circulating video was not legitimate. Vice also cautioned the public to be vigilant about the spread of AI-generated content, which is increasingly being used to mislead audiences and promote unauthorized products. He likewise urged social media users to verify the authenticity of content and report misleading materials.

“This is not legit! My old tiktok video was AI-generated to promote a brand. Ginaya ang pananalita, kilos, at pati boses ko! Ang dami nang nagkalat na AI-generated content ngayon. Maging mapanuri at i-report agad ang mga ganitong video!” he said.

The incident adds to a growing list of cases where AI tools have been used to create deceptive videos of public figures, raising concerns about digital misinformation and misuse of emerging technologies.

Vice Ganda, whose real name is Jose Marie Viceral, is a famous comedian, host, actor, singer, and entrepreneur in the Philippines. He is well known as the main host of the noontime show "It’s Showtime" and for his blockbuster movies such as "Praybeyt Benjamin," "Fantastica," and "The Super Parental Guardians." Aside from being an entertainer, he is also an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and has a strong influence on the country’s pop culture.

The superstar is currently in a relationship with Ion Perez. The couple got their Certificate of Commitment in a special ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada, in October 2021.

The host shared that seeing elderly participants led him to think about their place and treatment in society. He also raised concerns about whether senior citizens are truly safe and well cared for in the country.
