In a touching Instagram post, Joey shared a photo of himself holding a pillow printed with an old photograph of his mother and his younger self as a baby. Alongside the image, he wrote a heartfelt message of love and gratitude for his late mother, whom he fondly called “Mama Emma.”
“Happy Birthday to me and my Mama Emma! I love you Ma and thanks for everything!” Joey wrote.
He went on to explain the reason behind the joint birthday greeting, revealing that his mother’s actual birth date was different but equally meaningful. “Sa mga nagtataka, my mom’s actual birthday is on March 31. She was born in 1925 kaya 100 years old na sya ngayon, special ‘di ba? Kaya isinama ko sya sa pagbati,” he shared.

Hindi ka naman magbe-birthday kung wala ermats mo!” he added.
The post received warm reactions and greetings from followers and celebrities alike. Many netizens also expressed admiration for Joey’s message, calling it a beautiful reminder of gratitude toward parents.
Known for his humor and wit, Joey’s post carried both affection and insight, showing a softer and more sentimental side of the long-time entertainer.
