She also spoke about the realities of showbiz, emphasizing that fame comes and goes quickly but good character keeps one’s career alive. Pokwang said she only wanted to remind new artists that humility is key to longevity in entertainment, adding that she has seen many rise and fall over her 21 years in the business.

In the interview, Pokwang reiterated her message, saying,

“Hindi ako galit kay Fyang. Galit ako the way i-handle nung mga fans niya ‘yung payo na binibigay. Gusto mo palang bigyan ng payo bakit mo dinaan sa social media? Saan ba siya na-ano, hindi ba sa social media din?

Marietta Subong, or Pokwang, is among the most well-loved comediennes in the industry. Her frank and motherly ways are always "patok" among Filipinos. She used to be with ABS-CBN but moved to GMA during the pandemic. Some of her popular movies are Call Center, A Mother’s Story, and Edsa Woolworth. She has two daughters, Mae and Malia. Her split with Lee O'Brian has caused a buzz on social media.

In a previous report by KAMI, Pokwang once again proven she is unafraid to speak her mind. On September 21, the actress and comedienne shared a fiery statement on her Instagram Stories, coinciding with the nationwide rallies calling for accountability and action against corruption. Her words reflected the anger of young people and the wider public who feel betrayed by greed and abuse of power. While she did not target specific figures, the post was widely read as a demand for accountability. Through this, Pokwang underscored her role in echoing the frustrations of a generation no longer willing to stay silent.

She linked her struggles to the comfort and luxury enjoyed by unnamed individuals who flaunt their lavish lifestyles online. The actress-comedienne also encouraged such people not to deactivate their social media accounts, adding, “para alam ng taong bayan na napapasaya namin kayo.” Her message surfaced as public frustration over social inequality and corruption remains a heated issue. In recent weeks, netizens have pointed out how families of politicians and government contractors allegedly live in comfort—traveling abroad, flaunting luxury items, and enjoying privileges—while ordinary workers face daily struggles.
