Television host and comedienne Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, who hails from General Santos City, shared her concern and prayers for the people of Mindanao after the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that recently hit the region.

In a post on her Instagram page, @mrandmrsfrancisco, Melai shared a screenshot showing the quake’s details and location—21 miles east-southeast of Baculin, Davao Oriental—alongside a heartfelt prayer written in Bisaya, appealing for God’s protection for her fellow Mindanaoans.

She wrote:

“Ginoo Kaloy-i intawon imong mga katawhan. Naga Ampo mi Lord sa proteksyun sa mga taga Mindanao, sila napod karun ang atu bang ug krisis sa Linog. Protektahi Ginoo ang imong mga katawhan. Tabangi Ginoo nga makasugakod sa problema nga giatubang karun, wala na untay aftershocks Lord. In Jesus Name we pray Amen (Lord, have mercy on your people. We pray for your protection over the people of Mindanao, who are once again facing a crisis due to the earthquake. Lord, protect your people. Help them endure the difficulties they are facing now, and we pray there will be no more aftershocks, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen).”

Melai Cantiveros is a prominent showbiz personality in the Philippines. She became famous in 2009 after winning "Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up." She also won the first season of the Filipino version of "Your Face Sounds Familiar" in 2015. She is happily married to Jason Francisco, and they have two wonderful children named Mela and Stela.

Previously, Melai Cantiveros shared that her family’s vacation unexpectedly turned into a hospital stay after both her daughters fell ill. Stela, the youngest, was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection after developing a fever. Shortly after, her eldest daughter, Mela, also became unwell with a sore throat. Melai stayed lighthearted in her post while extending thanks to their doctor, the hospital staff, and God for her children’s recovery.

Melai admitted that she once fell out of love and described how their relationship nearly ended in separation. She said that pride, misunderstandings, and differences in moods and attitudes almost drove them apart, adding that Jason may have felt the same way during those difficult times.
