In a recent interview with GMA Integrated News’ 24 Oras, Mika was asked about Shuvee’s current experience of being under public scrutiny. Mika, who has herself been in the spotlight for years as a vlogger and now as a book author, then reminded Shuvee to be discerning about the comments she chooses to take to heart.
“Pinakamasasabi ko lang kay Shuvee siguro is piliin mo 'yung mga papakinggan mo 'tsaka tatanggapin mo sa sarili mo,” Mika said, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and emotional boundaries when facing public criticism.
The PBB winner added that while it’s essential to accept mistakes and learn from them, it’s equally important to protect one’s peace and mental well-being from destructive remarks.

“Kung meron kang mistake, own it, say you're sorries, change, own it. Parang, kung constructive criticism, take it. Pero kung pure hate lang, let it go, slow down,” she continued.
Mika’s message serves as both a reminder and a reassurance — that while criticism can help one grow, not every opinion deserves a response. For young public figures like Shuvee, learning to strike that balance may be one of the most important lessons in the spotlight.

Shuvee Etrata gained significant recognition as one of the housemates in the latest edition of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). Known for her "Island Ate ng Cebu" charm, she quickly became a fan favorite due to her wit, authenticity, and entertaining presence. Although she wasn't the grand winner, she is arguably one of the most popular personalities from her season. She is currently continuing her showbiz journey through guest appearances, hosting stints, and a strong viral presence on social media.
Recently, Shuvee released a statement regarding an old post about politics and directly admitted that it caused hurt and disappointment, leading her to issue an apology. The actress explained that she avoids discussing politics because it is too divisive, but clarified that the more important focus now is love for the country and standing up against corruption. Shuvee promised to broaden her perspective and continue to learn and grow for the betterment of everyone, while emphasizing her love for the Philippines, especially during the current times.
GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes publicly defended Shuvee after old videos of the actress expressing political views resurfaced. Gozon-Valdes clarified that Etrata is not a "die hard" political supporter and her controversial comments stemmed from "personal observation" in her neighborhood. Sparkle First Vice President Joy Marcelo confirmed that Etrata’s brand endorsements remain strong, citing "no major fallout" and continued brand support.
