In a heartfelt post shared on his social media page on Tuesday, July 29, Alcasid uploaded a solemn selfie taken beside a memorial display for Ynfante, featuring a portrait of the late director along with a touching tribute.

In the caption, the singer-songwriter penned a poignant farewell message to the beloved director. Alcasid likewise offered his sincere condolences to the director’s loved ones.

“Paalam direk Fritz. Salamat po sa inyo at lubos na pakikiramay sa kanyang mga mahal sa buhay,” he earnestly wrote.

Ynfante succumbed to natural causes at his residence on the morning of July 21. He was 84 years old.

The legendary director’s death came just two weeks ahead of his 85th birthday on August 4.

Ynfante was best known for directing a string of hit variety shows in the 1980s and 1990s, including Penthouse Live, Keep On Dancing, and It’s A Date. Known for his flair, vision, and theatrical creativity, Ynfante helped define an era of Philippine entertainment.

Ogie Alcasid is a singer and composer in the Philippines. He is married to Regine Velasquez. a famous singer and host in the Philippines who is dubbed the Asia’s Songbird because of her outstanding vocal range. They have a son, Nate. The couple is considered one of the most respected power couples in the Philippine showbiz.

As previously reported by KAMI, Ogie Alcasid took to social media to emotionally bid farewell to the iconic ABS-CBN Tower, which is set to be demolished following the sale of part of the media company’s property in Quezon City. He shared photos of himself and his fellow “It’s Showtime” hosts posing before the iconic Millennium Transmitter. Along with the photos, Ogie earnestly thanked and said goodbye to the tower. He also recalled how his career started with ABS-CBN back in 1991.

In another report, Ogie Alcasid warned his numerous followers about a poser. In a post, Ogie shared screenshots from the poser’s FB page with the profile name Ogie A. It has 84,000 likes and 82,000 followers on the said platform. As per the renowned singer-songwriter, the fake account falsely claimed that he has tuberculosis to scam people. The “It’s Showtime” host and “ASAP Natin ‘To” mainstay also urged his followers to report the account.
