In her Instagram post, Maxene shared a photo of her wrist tattoo that reads “La fille à Papa”, which means “Daddy’s girl” in French. “I got this tattoo to commemorate the first death anniversary of my father FrancisM,” she wrote, adding that she chose French because one of her father’s nicknames was “France.” The tattoo was done by @mykesambajontattoo of @pandptattoo, one of FrancisM’s first tattoo artists.
Maxene also bravely opened up about the mental health struggles she faced after her father’s passing. “I got this tattoo during a time in my life when I was extremely depressed and wanted to leave this world after Papa passed away,” she revealed. “That was why I made sure to put the tattoo on my wrist — so that I can be reminded that my Dad will always be with me no matter how sad I feel.”
She added that the tattoo serves as a sacred reminder of her father’s spiritual presence and shared more images honoring her family’s meaningful ink. “Swipe to see my Mom’s butterfly tattoo with hearts to represent each of her 8 children and my Dad’s most iconic tattoo ‘3 Stars and A Sun’ by tattoo artist Leon Agusto aka Pido.”
Maxene closed her post with a message about self-expression: “I don’t believe that getting tattoos makes you a bad person. I believe it is a brave way to express yourself. It makes you authentic and even more unique. Do you have a tattoo?”
Her candid post has since drawn support and admiration from fans, many of whom commended her courage and vulnerability in sharing both her grief and healing journey.
