In a nostalgic Instagram post, Christine shared photos of herself and husband Julius Babao posing in front of the ABS-CBN tower—a landmark that she says witnessed the start of her career and even her love story.
“My Kapamilya Story: I started my journey with ABS-CBN in 1993, when I first became a field talent for Tatak Pilipino, then became a STAR NEWS Anchor,” she wrote. “Working alongside News Icons Kabayan Ninong Noli, Ninang Mel, and Ka Kiko was a highlight of my news career.”
Christine also looked back on hosting Alas 5:30, where she fell in love with fellow anchor Julius Babao. She went on to work on multiple shows such as TFC This Week, ETC with Boy Abunda, Rated K, Talk TV, and DZMM Teleradyo—as well as her beloved role as Anatom in the educational children’s show Sineskwela.
“So many memories of ABS-CBN. Dito ako nakilala at nagkapangalan. Dito ko rin nakilala si Julius, and met solid friends like fellow anchors Tito Boy Abunda, Cheryl Cosim, and Nina Corpuz,” she shared.
Although Christine moved to TV5 in 2010 to host Kumare Club and Good Morning Club, she expressed gratitude to ABS-CBN for shaping her into the media professional she is today.
“I will forever be grateful to you, ABS-CBN, for all the breaks you gave me that honed my skills and unearthed other talents. I am still hosting up to now, 32 years in the biz and now producing shows.”
She ended her tribute with a hopeful note, celebrating the current partnership between ABS-CBN and MediaQuest’s TV5:
“Glad that MediaQuest–TV5 is a partner of ABS-CBN—magkapatid, magkapamilya. Muli, SALAMAT NG MARAMI, ABS-CBN.”
Julius Babao is a well-known Filipino broadcast journalist and TV host. He became popular for his work as a news anchor on ABS-CBN, where he spent many years covering major stories and current events. Julius is also known for hosting investigative programs that help solve crimes and assist people in need. After leaving ABS-CBN, he continued his journalism career with TV5, where he remains active. Outside of work, Julius is admired for his love of art, his family, and his passion for helping others.
In a previous report by KAMI, John Wayne Sace, according to Julius Babao, refused to be put in a rehabilitation center and move away from his place. In Babao's one-on-one interview with Sace a year ago, they tried to help the former child star from his predicament - Sadly, John Wayne is now legally facing a serious crime that he allegedly committed. He is now in prison at the Pasig City Police Headquarters.
Additionally, Karl Eldrew Yulo shared with Julius Babao that the most important thing he has received is the support of his family through all his successes and challenges. Karl successfully won four gold medals and two silver medals at the 3rd JRC Artistic Gymnastics Stars Championships 2024. He also dreams of winning a gold medal at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, just like his older brother, Carlos Yulo. Karl chose not to comment on the issue involving the conflict between their mother, Angelica Yulo, and his brother, Carlos Yulo.
