In the statement released on its social media pages on Thursday, July 3, Aguila Entertainment clarified that the actress’ image was illegally used by an online gaming platform called "PH Sugar" for promotion.
The artist management agency clarified that the Kapuso star is not connected in any way to the platform.
“Our artist Jennylyn Mercado is not endorsing nor is she affiliated in any way with the online gaming platform ‘PH Sugar,’” the label stressed.

“The said group is illegally using Jennylyn's photo/video in the Facebook ads they are running to lure unknowing users to download or try their platform,” it continued.
The company then hinted at seeking legal action against the platform.
“We are now talking to authorities to discuss our next steps,” Aguila Entertainment underscored.
Furthermore, the agency reminded the public “to be vigilant and verify the legitimacy of any online gaming platform.”
Jennylyn Mercado is an actress, singer, songwriter, host, and commercial model from the Philippines. She entered show business when she participated in GMA Network's reality talent competition, StarStruck, and subsequently won. She is now married to her fellow Kapuso star, Dennis Trillo, a Pinoy actor, recording artist, and model. He is known for playing the role of Eric del Mundo in "My Husband’s Lover." He also played the role of Crisostomo Ibarra and Simoun in the multi-awarded series "Maria Clara at Ibarra."
As reported by KAMI last April, Dennis and Jennylyn's daughter, Dylan Jayde, celebrated her 3rd birthday. On her little one’s special day, Jennylyn treated her followers to a set of photos from Dylan’s adorable birthday shoot. As seen in the photos beautifully captured by Nice Print Photography, the birthday girl had a Moana-inspired shoot. Jen and her husband also joined the shoot, where they dressed up as Moana and Maui, respectively.
Meanwhile last March, showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz shared a funny video on Facebook, which showed Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado, taking on the viral "Hayop ka" challenge. In the video, Mama Ogs introduced Dennis as a multi-awarded actor, along with his wife, Jennylyn. He then started by tapping Dennis on the arm, signaling that he should start delivering the line, "Hayop ka, may araw ka rin, mabubulok ka sa impyerno." Thereafter, on the third try, and where Dennis feigned an expression of getting hurt, Jen intervened and jokingly got mad at Ogie, which left the latter telling Jen that he was "Ogie."
