Kitty Duterte pens emotional letter to Rodrigo Duterte, praises his love for her

Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, the youngest daughter of former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte, posted a heartfelt tribute to her father, expressing deep love, admiration, and gratitude for the man she calls “Dada Rody.”

Her message comes at a time of great personal and public difficulty, as Duterte remains in detention under the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity, due to alleged extrajudicial killings committed during his administration.

In her emotional message, Kitty shared personal reflections about their bond, calling him not just a public servant and a leader, but first and foremost, her father. She opened the post with a tender line that encapsulated the intimacy of their relationship:

“He who makes one most vulnerable, is he who is loved the most.”

Kitty continued: “I learned that from you, palangga ko. You are a public servant and a leader, but you are my father, first. Thank you for showing me what it means to be truly loved. It is wishful thinking hoping that another man, preferably my future husband, would ever love me more than you do, but I am also beyond blessed, that the man who loves me the most, is the man who should.”

The message offered a rare glimpse into the softer, more personal side of the controversial former president—through the eyes of his youngest daughter. Kitty expressed how her father made her feel seen, valued, and understood in both big and small ways.

“You have shown me what it means to really matter to someone, to be seen and to be heard. From the fact that I am the only one who can get you out of bed or demand you to sleep, to the little things like you adjusting to what I want and what I do not.”

She also expressed fear that no other man might match the level of patience and love her father has given her, but said that having experienced it already was more than enough.

“It honestly terrifies me knowing that no other man would be this patient, or put up with half of what you have, but to have been able to experience all of that with you, is a love that will last me a lifetime.”

In her message, Kitty also praised her older siblings and the values instilled in them by their father:

“You have raised extremely admirable people. I look up to you, my Ate and my Kuyas, because of every single value and principle you have fostered.”

She ended her post with a mix of humor and tenderness, sharing a sweet dream of having her own son someday—modeled after her dad:

“I cannot wait for my biggest dream, to have my own little Rodrigo and for him to be just like you, with the big belly and all.”

“Gihigugma ka ni Kitty, Dada Rody ko. Be strong and always remember to fight for me like I fight like hell, for you.”

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He left Malacañang on June 30. The newly inaugurated President of the Philippines is Bongbong Marcos who got 31 million votes in the May 2022 elections. The new Vice President of the Philippines is VP Sara Duterte, the daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Zimmerman flew to The Netherlands to show support for former President Rodrigo Duterte. The elder Duterte is currently held at the International Criminal Court’s detention center located within a Dutch prison complex in Scheveningen. The vice president and her mom’s photos strolling the streets of The Hague then made the rounds on social media.

On Instagram Stories, the youngest child of the former president shared a photo of FPRRD’s precious moment with his family. It was captured hours before the ex-leader was arrested last Tuesday. He was apprehended pursuant to a warrant of arrest issued by the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity.
