Marian Rivera reminisces being chosen to play Marimar: “18 years ago”

Marian Rivera has recently celebrated the 18th anniversary of her being officially cast as Marimar.

To recall, the A-list celebrity played the lead role in the Mexican series’ Kapuso adaptation, which launched her into unparalleled superstardom.

On her Facebook page, Marian shared a video of a 24 Oras’ “Chika Minute” report showing the actress’ emotional reaction to the letter she received from GMA Network saying she would play the much-coveted role.

Along with the video, Marian penned a heartfelt caption expressing how the iconic milestone in her career changed her life.

“18 years ago, a dream came true when I was chosen to play the role of 'Marimar.' So much has changed since then, and I have experienced countless blessings. Through every trial and experience in my journey, I've been strengthened by faith. I am forever grateful for everything, surrendering all to Him,” she gratefully aired.

Marian went on to cite an inspiring Bible verse from Psalm 32:8, which reads: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

The Kapuso Primetime Queen concluded her post by thanking the people who have been supporting her.

“Maraming salamat sa inyong pag mamahal at pag dadasal para sa akin at higit sa akin pamliya. Mahal ko kayo!”

Marian Rivera Gracia-Dantes, popularly known as Marian Rivera, is a famous Pinay actress, philanthropist, endorser, and TV host. She was born on August 12, 1984. Marian rose to stardom after playing Marimar and the superheroine Darna. She is also married to her fellow Kapuso star, Dingdong Dantes. They have two children: Maria Letizia and Jose Sixto IV.

However, this year, the couple was joined by their two adorable children, Zia and Sixto. What their kids wrote, however, struck a chord with Dingdong and Marian afterward.
