K recounted how the news of her daughter’s sexuality reached her not from Tal, but through someone else:
“Chinika niya… Alam mo ‘yung nanginginig ‘yung luha ko na nanggigigil ako,” she said, describing the shock and anger she felt at that moment.
Though hurt by how it happened, K emphasized she had long sensed that her daughter was keeping something important from her—but chose to wait patiently and lovingly.
Tal, for her part, explained that she had opened up to a male friend with whom she shared a strong connection due to their shared love for scuba diving.
“Nakuha kasi niya ang loob ko kasi mabait siya eh… parang nanghingi ako ng advice,” she said.
However, she admitted that being outed without her permission felt like a betrayal.
“‘Yun kasi ‘yung pinaka parang betrayal sa sarili mo ‘pag may nag-out sa’yo, hindi mo na own ‘yun eh. Hindi ko man lang na-own yun on my own time.”
Despite the painful experience, Tal chose to find meaning and growth in the ordeal.
“At the same time, it was also a blessing in disguise, kasi baka ‘pag tumagal, baka until now hindi pa rin ako out,” she reflected.
The touching conversation offered viewers a raw and honest look into the complexity of coming out and the deep love and support between a mother and her daughter.
