Former child star turned empowered young woman, Xyriel Manabat, opened up on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition on ABS-CBN and GMA about one of the biggest misconceptions people have about her — and she’s not holding back.

In a heartfelt moment inside the PBB house, Xyriel shared how judgments about her choice of clothing have unfairly painted her in a negative light.

“Feeling ko ang biggest misconception about sa akin ay because of the way I dress or express myself sa aking pananamit,” she revealed.

The Dirty Linen actress addressed critics who equate her fashion choices with a lack of values or respect.

“Feeling ng tao wala akong self-respect which is a big no. For me, hindi nasusukat ang respeto ko sa sarili ko sa piraso ng tela.”

She emphasized that confidence and self-love go far deeper than appearance.

“Para sa akin, kahit gaano ako ka-confident o kakumportable sa skin ko, hindi mo masasabi na hindi ko nirerespeto ang sarili ko.”

Manabat has previously spoken out about body positivity and the challenges of growing up in the public eye, but this recent revelation marks one of her most personal and powerful messages to date.

Her candid statement quickly resonated with viewers and supporters online.

Xyriel Manabat was first recognized in the world of showbiz when she joined "Star Circle Quest: Search for the Next Kiddie Idol" in the year 2009 where she was awarded 3rd placer. The former child actress received acclamations for her performance in "100 Days to Heaven" and "Ikaw Ay Pag-Ibig." She is also one of the cast of "Dirty Linen." She, and another young actor, Zaijian Jaranilla got great reviews and commendations from viewers of "Senior High."

Previously, Xyriel shared stunning photos of her striking some poses on the bed. In the comments section, Zaijian jokingly remarked, "Surot sa kama pag walang tao." The said comment then prompted the actress to banter with the actor.

In another previous post, she shared a video of her getting tattooed with a new design. In the video, one can see the tattoo artist examining the skin area where he’s going to ink his design. One could also see the actress examining the mock-up design that the tattoo artist placed before he uses permanent ink. In the middle of the video, Xyriel can be seen lying on her side as the tattoo artist performs his craft.
