Actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista, alongside her husband Senator Chiz Escudero, recently shared details of their private life during the second part of their interview on GMA’s “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.” In a heartfelt revelation, Heart shed tears as she disclosed their journey through in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
Heart revealed that they had been expecting their first baby through IVF. Although she wasn’t pregnant, she had hoped for success with the procedure, as she worked hard and experienced sacrifices producing an egg through IVF. She emotionally expressed her anticipation and preparations for their future child, whom she fondly named Sophia Heart.
“We were expecting a baby. I wasn’t pregnant but I was expecting my only girl that I had left… eggs.
“So, at that time, I thought it was… gonna make it, that she could. That was a bit hard for me because my God… hirap! So I was really preparing for her.

"So I really thought that I was gonna have a baby at the time when I felt, like, with everything we went through, it’s finally gonna happen. But it didn’t.
“But it’s okay. I mean, I am not the type to question. It’s just sad because I thought I was gonna be able to share what I do with my last girl...
“Actually, I cry not because I wasn’t given what I want, and I’m a spoiled child. I cry because it took so hard for me to produce the egg and so it was hard for me to accept the fact that I gave her name.
“I actually named her Sophia Heart. I was very excited to have her,” she revealed.
Despite the emotional rollercoaster, Heart expressed gratitude for the blessings in their lives and maintained a positive outlook. She emphasized her acceptance of the situation, refusing to dwell on what could have been.
“It’s a little hard but I’m not complanining…
"But I’m blessed in so many other ways. How can I complain?” Heart stated.
The couple discovered the news right before their wedding renewal ceremony last February, adding a layer of poignancy to their journey.
“We found out right before our wedding (renewal of vows), it’s actually very sad.
"Ganoon talaga, you cannot have it all. It will come,” Heart said.
