“On a serious note, STOP TAKING FILIPINOS FOR GRANTED! yes, resilient tayo, and very understanding, pero may hangganan ang lahat,” Alessandra wrote in her Twitter post.

She added that Filipinos, including her, have so much to offer, and they have dreams, as well as families. This is why no one should take everyone’s lives for granted.

“Ang dami naming kayang ibigay. May mga pangarap din at pamilya. Don't take our lives for granted!” the actress further wrote.

She also posted a plea for help and then said that Filipinos need support not sports.

“Tulong. We need support. Not sports,” she pleaded.

The final phrase on her tweet read: “Ay natweet.” This indicates that she had been keeping this to herself for so long and out of exasperation, she accidentally, which obviously is not the case, tweeted it.

Known for posting tweets against the current administration, Alessandra took a swipe at the government, lamenting at the steady rise of COVID cases in the country. She also hit at Pres. Duterte, who used to proudly proclaim that he would ride a jetski to personally bring the Philippine flag to the disputed area.

Recently, the actress also posted on Twitter that she needs to jog at night. This was after several thousands more COVID cases were added to the already ballooning total. The actress said the situation is getting frightening, hence the need for a night jogging. Many believe Alessandra’s post is a jab at the recent photos of President Rodrigo Duterte jogging at night, which were later posted by trusted aide, Senator Bong Go.
