Vice President Leni Robredo called out a fake photo showing her receiving COVID-19 vaccine. The photo, which has since gone viral, shows a woman bearing a striking resemblance to the vice president being injected with the vaccine. The photo also has a news website’s social card, making it look more legitimate.

Everything looks fine except the seated woman’s sleeves on the arm that is supposed to receive the injection is not rolled up, which is typical for those being injected in that area. Seeing the uncanny resemblance with VP Leni, some netizens took a screenshot of the photo and posted it with nasty comments.

A netizen captioned one such post with the question “Madam nag pa inject ka ba talaga?” indicating there is something wrong with the photo. Another netizen posted the same photo along with the caption “pang President talaga. Alin ang mali dito?”

When the vice president learned of the photo, she immediately denied she is the one shown in the photo. “This is ridiculously funny. Hindi po ako yan. Ayoko na sanang patulan pero ang daming nagpapadala ng mga screenshots. Kung hindi kayo busy, pa report na lang please,” said VP Robredo on her personal Facebook page.

She also shared a collage containing screenshots of those who posted the fake photo. According to the screenshots, the accounts that shared the post were allegedly owned by Jay-Ar Dionisio, Mark Patrick Pascual Balaca, Ash Romero,and Jl Macana.

Robredo also revealed she learned that the lady receiving the vaccine in the photo is pediatric surgeon Dr. Flordeliza Grana, who is based at the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center (ARMMC). “She was wearing a ‘bakuna’ blouse – the sleeves have slits,” the VP wrote on her Facebook page.

She also took time to apologize to the doctor for being dragged into the issue. “Sorry, Dra. Nadamay ka pa tuloy,” VP Leni said.

The vice president is among the most vocal critic with the way government authorities approved the entry and eventual use of China’s Sinovac vaccine. Earlier, VP Leni said the vaccine should not skip any step in the process because Philippine health workers deserve the best. Because of this, President Rodrigo Duterte again targeted VP Leni in a profanity-laced speech during a pre-recorded address to the country on Monday night.

Vice President Leni Robredo has been the subject of dozens of news items and posts which she claimed as fake news. According to the camp of VP Robredo, most of the perpetrators were allegedly supporters of President Duterte.

In related news, President Rodrigo Duterte recently challenged Vice President Leni Robredo anew. This was after Robredo backed the doctors’ plea to have Sinovac Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccines undergo further reviews. The said vaccines donated by the Chinese government arrived in the Philippines on February 28. Duterte then slammed Robredo’s call and dared her to do vaccine shopping outside the country.

In one of his past weekly addresses, President Rodrigo Duterte berated Vice President Leni Robredo, and slammed the VP's statement wherein she called his move of letting the U.S. pay to retain the VFA as akin to "extortion." He also hit VP Leni's profession, saying, "hindi mo alam ang trabaho mo, dapat alam mo 'yan kasi abogado ka." Ultimately, he said that Robredo is "not really qualified to run for president."
