Shredded money in plastic bags found in a barangay in Roxas City

- Big plastic bags containing shredded banknotes were found in a barangay in Roxas City, Capiz

- It was found in Barangay Cagay and were left by the service provider from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)

- The plastic bags containing money were supposed to be brought to the dumpsite

- The service provider said that the truck carrying the shredded bills had a flat tire, and temporarily unloaded the truck

Bags of shredded banknotes were found by residents in Barangay Cagay, Roxas City, Capiz.

According to a report by Ma. Angelica Garcia of GMA News, the contractor that took the money from BSP to the dumpsite had a flat tire.

"It so happened lang na ‘yong truck namin galing central bank papuntang dumpsite, dumaan dito kasi na-flat," Jonathan Agrasada, representing the contractor tasked to pick up and deliver the shredded money to the dumpsite, narrated.

He added that they simply temporarily unloaded the bags to fix the truck, as reported in Metro Headlines.

The BSP of Roxas is already conducting an investigation into the matter. The BSP also said that the dumping of the shredded bills, which were either mutilated and unfit, are withdrawn and shredded.
