Arjo Atayde shared his thoughts about the crisis that the local entertainment industry faces and hoped that the Philippine government will show more support to it.

In a recent report by PUSH, the award-winning actor revealed his aspirations for the industry that he is part of now. It is not hidden that many employees from this field have been badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Arjo wishes that the Philippine government will be more supportive towards the local showbiz industry, especially now when it is also suffering because of the current global situation. He also mentioned that other Asian countries are doing it.

“I don’t mean to badmouth the government, but I think other countries are supported by the government and I think that’s a big factor as well.” he said.

The Kapamilya actor explained in what way they now need help and the adjustments that they have been going through.

“I’m not badmouthing again, I’m stating a fact and I guess we just need more support, more funds, more time, especially now that we were so used to shooting 20-30 scenes in a span of 24 hours.
“Now you have to shoot that in a span of 12 hours.
“So, imagine the adjustment that people have to go through for that.”

According to him, it is now the best time for collaboration among people to come up with high-quality projects that can be shown internationally.

“Maybe just with time and building the right team.
“It is the best time for people to collaborate and get the best team out there to put up a project and hopefully ship it abroad and make people see it,” Arjo stated.

Arjo Atayde is a versatile Kapamilya actor. Last year, he won Best Actor at the 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards for his role in “Bagman”. He is the son of veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez and the boyfriend of Maine Mendoza.
