Four cobras placed inside a 5-gallon mineral water container were confiscated at the Arranque Market in Manila, on Tuesday, July 7.

KAMI learned that the market administration office received information that there was an ongoing illegal trade of snakes in the market.

MAO Director Zenaida Mapoy, went into action, and the ABS-CBN report said that when they were going around the market for an inspection, they seemingly heard the sound of cobras.

They found the four species in the poultry section and were confiscated. No one was arrested over the incident but the investigation is still ongoing.

Selling of reptiles like snakes is considered illegal. Those who would be caught engaging in the said trade can be arrested.
