A photo has been circulating on social media after claiming that Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) patients were seen dead lying on the road in Wuhan.

However, KAMI learned that the claim was false and misleading the public.

In a report by Rappler, the post said that the COVID-19 had been widely spread in Wuhan to the point that those who tested positive already died along the road.

“Wuhan China. Sa kalsada na lang namamatay ‘yung mga infected ng coronavirus,” it read in the post.

“Nakakatakot… Sana tumigil na ang pagkalat ng coronavirus… Sana ‘wag naman mangyari ‘to dito sa Pinas,” it added.

Rappler reported that the actual photo was originally taken on March 24, 2014, by photographer Kai Pfaffenbach.

According to Reuters, the photo was an art project to commemorate the Katzbach Nazi concentration camp victims.

“People lay down in a pedestrian zone as part of an art project in remembrance of the 528 victims of the Katzbach Nazi concentration camp, in Frankfurt, March 24, 2014. The inmates of the Katzbach concentration camp, a part of the former Adler industrial factory, were forced into a death march to the concentration camps of Buchenwald and Dachau on March 24, 1945. Some 528 victims of Katzbach are buried at Frankfurt's central cemetery.”
