Starting the SEA Games strong! PH team bags 28 gold medals in 10 events

- The Philippines is starting strong in different events of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games

- In just 10 events, the country was already able to bag 28 gold medals during the first two days of the SEA Games 2019

- Aside from the gold medals, the country also won 18 silver and 9 bronze medals

- The Philippines currently ranks 1st in the overall tally of the medals in the SEA Games

What a strong start for the Philippines! As the country hosts the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, the national team also hopes to make it back to the top 3 of the regional biennial meet.

KAMI learned that out of 10 events, the Philippines already bagged 28 gold medals.

According to the Inquirer, the PHISGOC Sea Games Server showed that as of 2:18 p.m. of December 2, 2019, the Philippines also won 18 silver and 9 bronze medals.

As of posting time, the Philippines is leading the entire tournament with a total of 55 medals, followed by Vietnam with 40 medals.

Kim Mangrobang and John Leerams Chicano had a golden sweep of both divisions in triathlon.

Meanwhile, the team for the dancesport bagged 10 gold medals during the opening day of the SEA Games. Sean Mischa Aranar and Ana Leonila Nualla brought home 3 gold medals in Viennese Waltz, Tango, and All Five Standard Dances.

In arnis, the Philippines bagged 7 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 2 bronze medals.

For cycling, John Derrick Farr added another gold medal for the Philippines after winning the men’s downhill event.

According to Rappler, the Philippines also got 2 medals in Sepak Takraw, and 1 gold medal for Karash, Wushu, Duathlon, Gymnastics, and Pencak Silat respectively.
