- A magnitude 4.9 quake hit Nagtipunan, Quirino at 10:28 p.m. on Wednesday
- Dumabato, Cagayan also felt a 4.9 magnitude of tremor on the same night
- Baguio City and Palayan City, Nueva Ecija experienced an Intensity I and Intensity II, respectively
- According to PHIVOLCS, there were no recorded damages and aftershocks in the said areas.
A magnitude 4.9 earthquake rocked parts of northern Luzon on Wednesday, November 13.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or PHIVOLCS, it shook the town at 10:28 p.m. at 14 kilometers north of Nagtipunan in Quirino with a 60 kilometers depth.
There was also a 4.9 magnitude tremor felt 11 kilometers east of Dumabato, Cagayan with a depth of 82.5 kilometers.
Meanwhile, PHIVOLCS released the intensity scale of each area affected by the earthquake.
Nagtipunan and Maddela, Quirino reached Intensity IV, as well as Bayombong, Nueva Viscaya. Intensity II for Palayan City, Nueva Ecija, and Intensity I for Baguio City.
PHIVOLCS said that they are not expecting any damage and aftershocks from the earth tremors in the said areas.
It can be recalled that the Philippines has been experiencing a series of earthquakes recently. The most damaging of which is the Mindanao quake where it caused a lot of casualties. Just a few days ago, Batanes was struck by a 4.8 magnitude of tremor.
Previously, KAMI reported about a 4.8 magnitude quake that hit the town of Itbayat, Batanes.
Northern Luzon is composed of two regions - Region 1 which is composed of provinces like Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan while Region 2 has Batanes, Isabela, Nueva Viscaya, and Quirino.
