Ethel Booba revealed she drank alcohol before performing on It's Showtime.
KAMI learned that the comedienne almost didn't make it to Tawag ng Tanghalan Celebrity Edition's semi-finals week because she got sick and lost her voice.
According to Ethel, she drinks alcohol whenever she has a problem with her voice. She believes it helps her voice recover and get better.
"Grabe, uminom ako! Kasi sa mga singer ganu’n, eh. Nakakaloka! Muntik na ako talaga mag-back out kasi nakakahiya!"
Despite encountering difficulties with her voice, she still managed to impress the judges, particularly Nyoy Volante who praised her singing prowess. Volante was evidently in awe of her high notes in her rendition of "To Love You More".
"May mga parts talaga na obvious na nahirapan ka to execute. But when the time came that you had to redeem yourself, grabe naman din talaga. ‘Yung birit mo, buong-buo, e. Parang walang sakit. Nakakabilib!"
In the end, Ethel made it to the finals and got the highest votes from the public, making her the "Madlang People's Choice of the Day".
In an earlier report by KAMI, Ethel Booba's tweet about controversial men Atong Ang and Gerald Anderson went viral.
