A health expert warned the public on possible bad effects caused by drinking too much milk tea.
KAMI learned in a recent episode of ABS-CBN's health program Salamat, Dok that drinking excessive milk tea could cause Diabetes.
"'Pag nasobrahan tayo ng calories, saan ba pupunta 'yon?
According to Dr. Nemencio Nicodemus, an endocrinologist, milk tea contains added calories that our body doesn't need. He also added that despite the positive effects of milk and tea there is still a larger amount of sugar that people get in their milk teas.
He further explained that 1 large-sized serving of milk tea contains 11 to 20 teaspoons of sugar or 400 calories which is way past the normal sugar level the human body needs according to the World Health Organization.

Dr. Nicodemus advised milk tea lovers to lessen their consumption to 1 milk tea per week to avoid gaining added calories.
